I am Obielum Godson, a Software Developer with a life goal of using technology as a tool for solving problems across major industries. I am skilled and currently interested in working with languages and frameworks such as Angular, React, Java and Node.js. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Babcock University and currently undergoing an MSc program with a focus on Advanced Computer Science at the University of Leicester. I have a strong passion for Web Developement, spend time digging through Open-Source Tools in order to contribute as well as broaden my horizon. Jobbatical-clone

A clone of the jobbatical job site, created with node,express and a few other packages, more info in the readme file.

  • A mini-clone of the popular job site Jobbatical. This web application was built using Node, MongoDB and a few other packages.
  • Allows job seekers to sign up, login and search for available positions.
  • Provides a separate module for hiring companies where they may add available job openings at their respective companies.
  • Utilized : Node, MongoDB, Session Storage, WYSIWYG editor, EJS(Template Engine), Heroku, Social Auth.

Nodachat

A simple chat application built with node, express and socket.io

  • A chat application built using Node on the backend, vanilla Javascript on the frontend ann MongoDB as the database.
  • Users are able to create separate chat rooms and then invite friends to that specific chat room, enforcing a form of privacy.
  • The Geolocation API was used to enable users share their specific location within a chat room.
  • Utilized: Node, MongoDB, Web Sockets, Pug, Handlebar, Javascrip

Listing Hub

A web application where users can view restaurants around their location, review and also make reservations.

  • A web app that allows users find top restaurants within their area.
  • Users are able to book dinner reservations in a restaurant using the app.
  • Restaurant owners are allowed to add restaurants, upload images, edit reservation limit, etc..
  • Users can sign up, submit restaurant reviews, view reservations made, most popular restaurants, etc..
  • Utilized: Node, MongoDB, Pug, Google Maps API, sessions, Twilio, Cloudinary.

Budgetify

A web app that allows you keep track of personal budget, also monitoring your expenses and income in certain areas of your life.

  • An ongoing personal project which allows a user keep track of their expenses and income for each month.
  • Limits can be set using a defined budget which helps provide information using interactive charts as to how personal finances are managed.
